WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND THERAPY?
The short answer to this question is that coaching works with the "celebrated self" and therapy works with the "wounded self."
Click over to the HVC page for a long-form answer about the differences between coaching and therapy. I am trained to refer clients for therapy where appropriate.

Why Don't You Coach Middle School and Younger Kiddos?
I specialize in helping clients that are high school, college, or adult age and the transitions associated with these phases of life. I have found through experience that parents of younger children may seek coaching for specific behavior changes they are struggling to implement. In this case, it is often best to coach with the parents around the ways they interact with their children to achieve the desired behavior. As a coach, I work with client's authentic motivation in order to create change OR refer out to another coach specializing in youth.

What About ADHD Medication?
I am not a psychiatric or medical professional and do not advise or supervise clients for medication and treatment plans. ADDitude magazine published a comprehensive list of ADHD medications (2021) that may be a helpful resource if you are looking for available treatment options to ask your medical provider about.
